Welcome to TinyGenius – Preschool Learning ("the App"), developed by oraDevs ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.
TinyGenius is designed for children aged 2–6. We take children's privacy extremely seriously and are fully committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Google Play Families Policy, and applicable data protection laws.
🚫 Information We Do NOT Collect
The App does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any contact information
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP addresses
- Location data (precise or approximate)
- Photos, audio recordings, or camera data
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Cookies or tracking technologies of any kind
- Social network information
No account or sign-in is required to use the App. The App functions entirely offline — no internet connection is needed for any learning content.
💾 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App saves the following data only on your device using local on-device storage (Hive). This data never leaves your device:
- Learning progress per module (stars earned, badges)
- Total learning time
- App preferences (night mode, voice volume, pitch, speed)
- Subscription status (free or premium), stored and verified locally
You can erase all locally stored data at any time using the "Reset All Progress" button in the Parent Dashboard.
💳 In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
TinyGenius offers optional premium subscriptions to unlock additional learning modules. All payment transactions are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not receive, process, or store any payment card details or financial information. Purchase confirmations are validated locally on your device via the Google Play Store.
Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time from your Google Play account settings.
🔊 Text-to-Speech (TTS) Voice
The App uses the device's built-in Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine to read letters, numbers, words, and feedback aloud. All TTS processing is performed locally on your device.
No audio recordings are made, stored, or transmitted. The App does not access your device's microphone at any point.
🔗 Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate any of the following:
- Advertising networks or ad SDKs (no ads, ever)
- Analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel)
- Crash reporting services that transmit personal data
- Social media SDKs
- Third-party tracking or attribution tools
The only external service interaction occurs during optional in-app purchases, handled entirely by Google Play Billing as described above.
👶 Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
TinyGenius is directed to children under the age of 13. In accordance with COPPA (15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq.) and the Google Play Families Policy:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- We do not require children to disclose more information than necessary to use the App
- We do not condition a child's participation on providing personal information
- There are no links to external websites within the child-facing portion of the App
- The Parent Dashboard is PIN-protected to restrict child access to settings
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has inadvertently provided personal information, please contact us immediately at the address below and we will take prompt action.
👨👩👧 Parental Rights & Controls
Parents and guardians have the right to:
- Review any data associated with their child's use of the App
- Delete all locally stored data via the "Reset All Progress" feature
- Refuse further data collection or use by uninstalling the App
- Request information about our data practices at any time
Since all data is stored locally on the device, uninstalling the App permanently removes all associated data.
🛡️ Security
Because TinyGenius does not transmit any data over the internet, the attack surface is minimal. All locally stored preferences and progress data are saved in the app's sandboxed storage, inaccessible to other applications.
The Parent Dashboard is protected by a PIN to prevent children from accessing subscription and settings controls.
📝 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes affecting children's data, we will provide an in-app notice.
Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage parents to review this policy periodically.
