1. Introduction
OraDevs ("we", "our", "us") built the Remote Control - Samsung TV app as a commercial application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our app.
By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials
- Your location data (GPS or otherwise)
- Your TV viewing habits or history
- Photos, files, or contacts from your device
- Device identifiers beyond what is strictly required for crash reporting
2.2 Local Network Scanning
To discover Samsung Smart TVs on your home network, the app performs a local mDNS/network scan. This scan:
- Operates entirely on your local network and no data is sent to our servers
- Does not store IP addresses or device information beyond the current app session
- Is never transmitted outside your device or home network
2.3 In-App Purchases
Premium subscription purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We receive only a confirmation of purchase status (purchased / not purchased). We do not receive your payment card information, billing address, or any other financial data.
A purchase token is stored locally on your device (in SharedPreferences) to confirm your premium entitlement. This token is never transmitted to our servers.

2.4 Advertising (Free Users Only)
The free version of the app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Approximate location (country/region level)
- Interaction data (ad impressions, clicks)
This data is collected and used by Google in accordance with Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Premium users do not see ads. Upgrading to Premium disables all ad SDKs.
2.5 Crash Reporting
We may collect anonymized crash reports to improve app stability. These reports contain:
- Device model and Android version
- App version
- Stack trace of the crash
Crash reports do not contain personally identifiable information.
3. How We Use Information
The limited information we collect is used solely to:
- Confirm your premium subscription entitlement
- Display relevant advertisements (free users only)
- Identify and fix crashes and bugs
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties, except:
- Google Play for processing in-app purchases (see Section 2.3)
- Google AdMob for serving advertisements to free users (see Section 2.4)
5. Data Storage & Security
- All app preferences (such as saved TVs and premium status) are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data is not backed up to any external server.
- We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
- We implement reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data processed by the app.
6. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@oradevs.com.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your data (note: since we store no personal data on our servers, deletion is primarily managed by uninstalling the app)
- Opt out of personalized advertising by resetting your Android Advertising ID in device settings
