Application: DevPlay – All Video Player
Last updated: April 10, 2026
Effective date: April 10, 2026
DevPlay is a local video player that runs entirely on your device.
We do not collect, store, or share any personal data.
No account is required to use this application.
1. Information We Collect
DevPlay does not collect, transmit, or sell any personally
identifiable information (PII). All data generated by the app (settings,
watch history, favourites, bookmarked positions) is stored exclusively on
your device using Android's local storage APIs and is never sent to any
remote server.
The following is the only data the app reads or writes:
Media files & metadata – DevPlay reads video files
stored on your device solely to display and play them. No file content or
metadata is transmitted externally.
App preferences – Settings such as theme, playback speed,
EQ presets, and subtitle options are saved locally via
SharedPreferences.
Watch history & resume positions – File paths and
playback positions are saved locally to support the "Recently Played" list
and resume-playback feature. This data never leaves your device.
2. Network Requests
DevPlay makes outbound network requests only in the
following explicitly user-initiated scenarios:
IPTV / Network Stream – When you enter a URL to load an
M3U playlist or stream a network video, the app connects to that URL
directly using your device's network connection. DevPlay does not log,
store, or share the URLs you enter.
Subtitle Search – When you use the "Search Online"
subtitle feature, the app sends the movie/show name you type to a
third-party subtitle API (subdl.com)
to retrieve matching subtitle
files. Only the search query you provide is transmitted; no device
identifiers or personal data are included. Please review subdl.com's own
Privacy Policy for their data practices.
In all other cases DevPlay operates fully offline.
3. Advertising
DevPlay displays advertisements powered by Google Mobile Ads to support app development and
maintenance.
When Ads Appear: Banner ads may display during video playback. App open ads appear when you
launch the application. Native ads appear when a video is paused.
Google Ad Personalization: Google processes ad-related data (impressions, clicks, interaction
patterns) to deliver targeted advertisements. This data may include general location, device type, and browsing
context. See Google's
Privacy Policy for details.
Opting Out: You can disable personalized ads on your Android device:
Settings → Google → Manage your Google Account → Data & Privacy
Scroll to "Ad settings" and disable "Personalized ads"
No Additional Data Shared: DevPlay does not share your personal information with Google beyond
what the Google Mobile Ads SDK requires for ad delivery.
4. Permissions Used
DevPlay requests only the permissions strictly necessary for its core
functionality:
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO – Required to
scan and play video files stored on your device.
INTERNET – Required for IPTV streams, online subtitle search (Section 2), and ad delivery
(Section 3).
WAKE_LOCK – Keeps the screen on while a video is playing.
PICTURE_IN_PICTURE – Allows the player to appear in a
floating window when the PiP button is pressed.
No permission is used to collect, profile, or transmit user data beyond what is necessary for stated features.
5. Third-Party Services
DevPlay integrates the following third-party services:
Google Mobile Ads SDK – For ad delivery and measurement. See Section 3.
No analytics, crash-reporting, or social login services are integrated.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any user data to outside
parties. Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to share.
We will disclose data only if required by applicable law or a valid court
order — but given that we collect no data, such disclosure would not be
possible.
7. Data Retention
All locally stored data (preferences, watch history, bookmark positions) is
retained on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the
application. You can clear this data at any time via Android Settings →
Apps → DevPlay → Storage → Clear Data.
8. Age Restriction Policy
This App is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take immediate steps to
remove it.
9. Data Security
All data generated by DevPlay resides locally on your device and is
protected by the Android application sandbox. We implement no server-side
systems because we operate no servers. The security of locally stored data
therefore depends on your device's own security measures (screen lock, full
disk encryption, etc.).
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the
"Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. We encourage
you to review this page periodically. Continued use of DevPlay after a
policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
Material changes (e.g., the introduction of any form of data collection)
will be communicated via an in-app notice or a Play Store update note.
