Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity has no user accounts and no servers of its own. Your learning progress is stored only on your device and is never uploaded anywhere. This policy explains the few exceptions — advertising and purchases — which are handled entirely by Google and your device's app store.
This policy applies to Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity (the "App"), an offline cybersecurity education app. It explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. If you have questions, use the contact details at the bottom of this page.
None. The App does not require or ask for a name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information, and it has no backend server to send such information to even if it wanted to.
To track your learning, the App keeps the following in a local database on your device only:
This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the App deletes it permanently. You can also erase it at any time from Settings → Reset progress.
The free tier of the App may display ads served by Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob's SDK can process device information, including an advertising identifier, to select and measure ads. This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, for ad personalization specifically, Google's Partner Sites policy.
Where required by law (for example, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), the App asks for your consent through a certified consent management platform before any ad — personalized or not — is requested. You can withdraw or change that consent at any time from within the App's settings. Users of the Premium tier are not shown ads and trigger no ad requests at all.
Premium upgrades are sold and processed entirely by Google Play (or the Apple App Store on iOS). We never receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information — that is handled by the store's own secure checkout. The App only stores, locally on your device, whether a Premium entitlement is currently active, so it can unlock the corresponding content.
The App does not currently use any analytics or crash-reporting SDK. If this ever changes, it will be disclosed here first and, where required, offered as an opt-in choice.
We do not sell your data. The only third party the App shares any device information with is Google, through the AdMob SDK described in Section 4, and only for users on the free (ad-supported) tier.
| Category | Collected | Shared with | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Learning progress (XP, quizzes, CTF, settings) | Yes — device only | Nobody | App functionality |
| Advertising identifier | Free tier only | Google AdMob | Advertising |
| Purchase/entitlement status | Yes — device only | App store (for the transaction itself) | Unlocking Premium |
| Name, email, contacts, location, photos | No | — | — |
Locally stored progress is retained until you clear it yourself (Settings → Reset progress) or uninstall the App — both delete it immediately and completely. There is no server-side copy to request deletion from. To reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization at the device level, use your operating system's advertising settings.
Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App is not directed at children, it is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families program.
Because Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity keeps no personal data on any server, most data subject rights (access, export, correction, deletion) are already in your hands: everything the App knows about your usage lives in Settings on your own device. Where applicable law (such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA) grants you rights over data processed by Google's advertising SDK, those requests should be directed to Google via your Google Account settings or Google's own privacy tools, since we do not have access to that data ourselves.
Because the App does not transmit your learning data anywhere, that data is only as exposed as your device itself. We recommend using your device's standard lock screen and OS update protections.
The App and its bundled content are stored entirely on your device. Any data processing described in Section 4 (advertising) may involve transfer to and processing in countries other than your own, under Google's own safeguards, as described in its Privacy Policy.
We may update this policy if the App's data practices change — for example, if analytics is ever added. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above, and the in-app copy of this policy will always match the version hosted here.
